Gemma started her passion for dancing at the early age of 3 at Marilyn Harris School of dance. By the age of 8 she wasalready appearing in professional Pantos at the Grand Theatre and continued her training in exams and winning many awards at
Her love for Musical Theatre blossomed by the age of 10 she joined Punch youth theatre company and also Bilston Operatic Society for their production of Oliver at the Grand Theatre. After enjoying many successful shows with Punch including Guys & Dolls, The Fantastics, Fame, and many showcase variety shows, her enthusiasm grew and as a teenager she joined South Staffs, Muscom, & Willenhall Operatic, performing in shows, Kiss me kate, 42nd Street, Anything Goes, Crazy for you, Mack & Mabel, Guys & Dolls, Thoroughly modern Millie, Copacabana, Fame, West side story, Sweet Charity, Back to the 80s, A Christmas Carol, Forbidden Planet, The hot Mikado, and many more summer showcase variety shows.
Gemma went onto to study performing Arts at Thomas Telford School where she especially loved learning the art of producing, choreography and directing shows, including sound, lighting, set design/build along with performing obviously!
Aswell as choreographing for Marilyn Harris Dance school dance shows, Gemma also joined Bilston Operatic as choreographer for their production of Hello Dolly at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre with her Husband Jon directing.
And after 8 years of teaching at Stageworkz, she is enjoying passing on her dance and performance experience to new and enthusiastic children who share her love for dance, drama & singing. She feels that this has rounded out her career in the Performing arts & looks forward to many more years with Stageworkz.
